NEW YEAR BRUNCH AT GAIA BY OSO RISTORANTE


GAIA – a derivation from ancient Greek “Gaea”, was believed as the mother of nature. Founded by two culinary experts, Chef Diego Chiarini & Stephane Colleoni, Gaia brings authenticity and creativity in delivering Traditional North Italian cuisine.

And this time, we visited this place to enjoy lunch together with family to celebrate the new year, we hope this year is better than the previous year. Anyway, this buffet package worth for IDR 350.000++/person.


GAIA main dining area’s ambiance reflects a strong character of the nature thanks to the elegant wooden design. Their “below mezzanine” area instead, is characterized by a lower wooden ceiling and dim lights, which creates a more romantic atmosphere and you will also enjoy the breathtaking view from the 46th floor.

Traditional Bruschetta

Traditional Bruschetta as our starter menu, such an antipasto from Italy consisting of grilled bread rubbed with garlic and topped with tomatoes, olive oil, salt and pepper. And the most popular recipe outside of Italy is using basil, fresh tomato, garlic and onion or mozzarella. Anyway, bruschetta is usually served as a snack or appetizer.

Italian Cold Cut Selection

Italian Cold Cut Selection. Cold Cuts are thin slices of meat served in a cold state. This is usually used as a fill for a sandwich or can be eaten directly. And most of cold cuts served using pork. Haha!

Smoked Salmon with Capers and Sliced Red Onion

Smoked Salmon with Capers and Sliced Red Onion, as our next starter menu and also such a classic combination that works as well as an appetizer as it does for breakfast or brunch. I love their salmon, served in a fresh way! :)

Continental Breakfast

Continental Breakfast served with beef chicken sausages, beans, sautéed mushrooms, grilled tomato, french fries and smoked bacon. This is as our last starter menu! I'm hooked with the sausages and smoked bacon.

Open Omelette Mushroom, Asparagus and Truffle Essence

And after we done with the starter menu, now we try to enjoy some eggs, HAHA! It's Open Omelette Mushroom, Asparagus and Truffle Essence.

Truffle Tegamino

Truffle Tegamino, same shape as the sunny side up egg in general, idk why it is called the Truffle Tegamino, HAHA!

Thick Mushroom Soup

And now, we moved to Soup Menu! Here's Thick Mushroom Soup, a delicious one. And when presented, you'll immediately smell the mushrooms are very strong and taste the soup itself is so tasty.

Tomato Soup

Soup of The Day! And now, we got Tomato Soup! This is a quite refreshing soup, because it's served with savory and slightly sour. This is perfect before we touched to the main course.

Homemade Beef Lasagna

And we moved again to the next category, TIME FOR PASTA! Firstly, we asked for Homemade Beef Lasagna is my favourite menu from Pasta Category! I love with every sheet of their soft pasta accompanied with a tasty meat sauce.

Fettuccine Truffle

Fettuccine Truffle. They use fettuccine pasta al dente for this menu and the Black Truffle sauce is quite thick. The aroma of truffle smell when pasta come into your mouth, but its smell not too strong.

Potato Gnocchi in Pesto Sauce

Potato Gnocchi in Pesto Sauce. Chewy but not too tough. Its sauce made of basil, olive oil and garlic. Maybe for those who don't like the basil, it's quite 'disturbing' because the taste is strong enough.

Rigatoni Sunday with Meat Ragout

Rigatoni Sunday with Meat Ragout. This is a delicious pasta menu as well, because it is served with shredded meat and covered by quite a lot of tomato sauce. Anyway, rigatoni was like a tube-shaped pasta, larger than penne.

Oven Baked Sea Bass with Herb Crust

Oven Baked Sea Bass with Herb Crust,  this menu is also caught my attention. Because although it's served with a bit of gravy, but it still feels crisp fish in the outside (maybe because it's fried for a moment). YUMM! :)

Classic Sunday Roasted Beef with Mixed Steam Vegetables and Gravy Sauce

Classic Sunday Roasted Beef with Mixed Steam Vegetables and Gravy Sauce. This main course looks so tempting, but idk why with their beef looks a bit dry and hard when you chew it. But I love there sauce selection (Mushrooms, Bordelaise and Red Wine).

Stuffed Chicken with Emmental and Spinach in Pink Sauce

Stuffed Chicken with Emmental and Spinach in Pink Sauce, this chicken is quiet juicy and tender, like it! Anyway, pink sauce is also known as Marinara Sauce, an Italian tomato sauce, usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs and onions.

Grilled Spicy Prawns

Grilled Spicy Prawns, as our last main course here! This prawns are grilled well, still look fresh and 'crisp' when you bite it.

Dessert Selection

Finally was about to finish and it's time to enjoy some desserts! Yeah, it's Dessert Selection from GAIA which is served with sponge cake and panna cotta, an Italian dessert made by blending thick cream, egg white and honey.

Cheese Platter

And the last is Cheese Platter, maybe it will be perfect for cheese lovers. And I think, some people here might not be so like with this kind of desserts such as cheese served not the usual cheese, but cheese that has been fermented.
