A little gift!

A little gift from auntie, she just back from Australia and gave a bottle of this, a little graduation's gift from her. Hehe. It was a red wine, 2008 Penfolds Rawson's Retreat Shiraz Cabernet. Fantastic ripe fruit characters shine through in the Rawson's Retreat range that are made to be enjoyed now. Their Shiraz Cabernet is a perfect example with it's ripe, full-bodied varietal flavors of raspberry and blackcurrant.

Shiraz is one of the world’s finest and most widely planted grapes. Originating in France, it shines as a single varietal and blends from the Rhone Valley region. Shiraz is the most planted grape variety in Australia, making up 44% of total red wine production.

Winemaker's Note
Color - Dark cherry red
Nose - Lifted, fresh and lively, offering an array of ripe summer berries and dark spices, with just a touch of subtle oak lurking in the background.
palate - A lovely balance os summer berries and light spices with soft tannins adding length on the palate. This medium bodied wine has an attractive fleshly mid-palate and juicy freshness on the finish, ideal for early drinking enjoyment.
